My mixed media abstract art is defined by a variety of elements including a wide array of mediums, techniques and layers. My work is heavily influenced by the unique use of texture, which gives it a very 3 dimensional feel as well as accentuating specific points of interest and meaning. Heavily textured sections in my art add lots of depth, which is juxtaposed against areas of open, transparent and delicate themes. I often place heavy earthen and material components next to lighter, ethereal and luminous regions. I also use natural and organic products in to synthetic and man-made mediums. These processes symbolize the 3rd dimensional aspect of life interacting against the higher, spiritual, mystical and transcendental realities of this existence.
I use larger wooden canvases in order to captivate my audience and to draw them into a sizeable abstract landscape that can act to bring them into the present moment. My art acts as a Rorschach ink blot in that it can act as a mirror for the viewer to see the projections of one’s inner world and own process. I seek to allow my viewers to become aware of their personal situations, thoughts, feelings and inner operations in order to understand themselves and the world. I also desire to help people work through their every day reality in order to transcend into a spiritual and mystical comprehension of themselves. Other themes my work art productions explore are our human interdependence to nature and each other. I also use symbolism to convey message relating to connectedness and wholeness. What we do affects everything else and by becoming conscious of this, we can improve our conditions and interactions with all of lie.
The enduring mark that I want to leave on the world is to assist people in uniting all parts of themselves and to come into balance with themselves in order to heal and move forward toward realization of higher understanding and expression. By connecting with our full humanity, we can make peace with our inner conflicts and thus come into wholeness and thus begin the transcendental process of discovering our spiritual life, which can serve to move higher evolution forward.
