As seen at the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy in San Francisco
Jesse Butterfield was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He is extremely grateful to have been exposed to many types of art, culture, international influences.
As a youth, he studied animation at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. His mother was a figure model for many prominent artists as well as the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2007, Jesse traveled to Europe to further his studies in the art of Venetian plaster, which is the base medium used in his artwork. The culmination of these combined experiences allows him to remain open minded, curious, experimental in his approach to art, and help him maintain an ever evolving level of creativity.
Having spent many years living in and exploring areas of natural wonder including the Monterey Bay Area, northern California, San Diego, Sedona/Arizona, and Santa Fe/New Mexico, Jesse has cultivated a keen ability to create works that integrate and embody the grandeur of natural splendor along with inviting color palettes that evoke an organic, yet fantasy-like quality. In doing so, he produces abstract pieces that balance the heavens and the earth. His artifice enlivens not only the viewer, but also the space that surrounds it.
